After bifurcation, north Andhra having, 34 assembly and 5
loksabha seats, is termed as a crucial region and leadership of every party has
been preparing strategies to win maximum seats in the region.
Though, Konatala Ramakrishna, is considered as active politician
from the district, he is confined only to party office activities in Hyderabad and spending
less time here in Vizag. Probably to fill the leadership vacuum, YSRC chief, YS
Jaganmohan Reddy initially decided to field his sister Sharmila from Vizag loksabha
seat which will have an impact on all the assembly and loksabha constituencies
in the three districts of north Andhra.
Sharmila, is also considered as party’s star campaigner. But, there are reports that, Jagan, has
changed his strategy and decided to field her from some other region than
Vizag. Now, though, officially, names of the contestants of the assembly
constituencies are not announced, but with the unofficial nod from the party
chief some aspirants have already started nurturing their hopes and begun
campaigning in their respective constituencies. But, they feel, the activities
and campaigning are going directionless.
Meanwhile, former Araku MLA, Kumbha Ravi Babu and ex
corporator, GV Ravi Raju, who joined YSRC at the time of the party’s launch and
have been actively taking part in various party programmes are said to be
unhappy and are ready to switch loyalties to either TD or JSP.
While Ravi Babu wanted Araku assembly ticket, Jagan decided
to field former MLC Kidari Sarveswar Rao from the constituency. On the other
hand, Ravi Raju expected ticket to contest from Vizag north constituency, which
went to party rural unit convenor, Chokkakula Venkat Rao.
