Paderu(Vizag Agency), Dec 19, 2012: In an attempt to ride over the success of
passing historic SC ST Sub Plan Bill 2012, in state Assembly, chief minister Mr
N Kiran Kumar Reddy chose the occasion to
explain its contents and importance to tribals in Dalimputt in Paderu as part
of the third day of his Indiramma Baata on Wednesday.
“Nobody knows the
importance of the Sub plan. Its your right to know the contents of the Bill. Now,
every rupee allocated to tribals in the annual budget has to be spent on them
alone. Those funds can’t be diverted. even a normal tribal can question authorities
and can book any officer if found not spending funds menat for them,” said the
Chief Minister.
With most tribal areas in the state lagging behind in all sectors-health,
education, roads, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his government was trying its
best to improve the standards and conditions in Agency tracts for their
welfare. he said efforts were on bring down the infant mortality rate by
providing better hospital facilities for pregnant women.
He also assured the tribals he would sanction a residential school
in the vicinity for the benefit of their children who had to travel far to go
to school and enquired about the proper implementation of the NREGS and other
welfare programmes in their areas.
